Gran Canaria boasts the greatest repository of native art and culture of all the islands in the archipelago. Some of the most outstanding archaeological finds consist of cave paintings, such as the ones in the painted cave (‘cueva pintada’) of Gáldar, which is decorated with geometric motifs that are made up of squares, triangles and circles, all painted in red, ocher and white.

En Gran Canaria se encuentra el conjunto cultural y artístico aborigen más rico del Archipiélago, destacando sobre todo los yacimientos con pinturas rupestres en cuevas, como las que acoge la Cueva Pintada de Gáldar, decorada con motivos geométricos, hechos a base de cuadrados, triángulos y círculos en colores rojizos, ocres y blancos, similares a las encontradas en la cerámica y pintaderas.
