The terms verrucous hemangioma and angiokeratoma circumscriptum have been used interchangeably in the literature to define clinically similar lesions. From a histologic perspective, however, angiokeratoma circumscriptum is limited to the papillary dermis whereas verrucous hemangioma extends as far as the hypodermis.
