“I concentrated more on the elderly residents, as they had more time for interaction than the staff”, dancer Sanna From tells of her experiences at a nursing home for the elderly. The interaction was based on improvisation, and it created various roles for the dancer. She felt she was the trusted one, bringer of comfort and touch, as well as a messenger between the elderly and the personnel.

Tästä johtuen hän työssään keskittyi palvelukeskuksen asukkaisiin, heillä oli enemmän aikaa kuin hoitohenkilökunnalla. Improvisaatiolle perustuvista kohtaamisista asukkaiden kanssa syntyi tanssijalle monenlaisia rooleja: muun muassa uskotun rooli, läheisyyden ja kosketuksen tuoja mutta myös rooli viestinvälittäjänä vanhusten ja hoitohenkilökunnan välillä.
