26. And that heavenly graces may help Us more abundantly than usual during this year in which We pay her fuller honour, to attain the imitation of the Virgin, and that thus We may more easily secure Our object of restoring all things in Christ, We have determined, after the example of Our Predecessors at the beginning of their Pontificates, to grant to the Catholic world an extraordinary indulgence in the form of a Jubilee.

Et afin que les trésors des grâces célestes, plus largement ouverts que d'ordinaire, nous aident à joindre l'imitation de la Bienheureuse Vierge aux hommages que nous lui rendrons, plus solennels, durant toute cette année; et afin que nous arrivions plus facilement ainsi à tout restaurer en Jésus-Christ, conformément à l'exemple de Nos prédécesseurs au début de leur pontificat, nous avons résolu d'accorder à tout l'univers une indulgence extraordinaire, sous forme de jubilé.

E affinché i tesori delle grazie Celesti, elargiti più abbondantemente del solito, ci aiutino a congiungere l'imitazione della Beatissima Vergine con gli omaggi che Le renderemo più solenni durante tutto quest'anno, e per arrivare cosi più facilmente a restaurare ogni cosa nel nome di Gesù Cristo, seguendo l'esempio dei Nostri Predecessori all'inizio del loro Pontificato, abbiamo deciso di accordare a tutto il mondo una indulgenza straordinaria sotto forma di Giubileo.
