In the structure of the maternal death rate, the percentage of those dying after an abortion fell by a factor of two from 22.8 per cent (in 1998) to 11.9 per cent (in 2007), and after an extra-uterine pregnancy, from 7.1 per cent to 3.1 per cent, respectively.
