Around 2100 UTC on August 25, the Government of Mexico issued a hurricane warning for the Islas Marías and areas between the southern border of Sonora and El Dorado . A hurricane watch was also issued for areas between Los Burros and the southern tip of Baja California Sur along the Gulf of California . By 0900 UTC the following day, the hurricane watch was upgraded to a warning.
