Der Übergang von Identitätsfindung zu Identitätswahrung wird anhand einer Befragung von 1596 ehemaligen Gymnasiasten im 16., 30. und 43. Lebensjahr in drei Dimensionen der Erfolgsdeutung untersucht: der biographischen Selbstdefinition im 30. Lebensjahr, die sich in der sozialen Selbstidentifikation im 43. Lebensjahr fortsetzt, der Lebenszufriedenheit und der Kausalattribution des Lebenserfolgs.

Using a panel survey of 1596 former German Gymnasium students at age 16, 30 and 43, the transition from identity formation to identity maintenance is examined within three dimensions: the biographical self-definition at age 30 which is followed by the social self-identification at age 43, life satisfaction and causal attribution of life success.
