Die 20.400 Steinblöcke des Aquädukts sind weder durch Mörtel noch irgendwelchen Zement miteinander verbunden und wahren dennoch ein perfektes, stabiles Kräftegleichgewicht. Die höchste Stelle befindet sich an der Plaza del Azoguejo mit 28,10 m Höhe und insgesamt 167 Bögen.An der Königlichen Münzstätte gibt es ein Interpretationszentrum des Aquädukts. In einer modernen, interaktiven Multimedia-Ausstellung wird der Besucher rund um das Leitthema Wasser entlang des mehr als 15 km langen römischen Aquädukts geführt und erfährt mehr über die 2.000 Jahre lange Geschichte dieses Bauwerks, das 1985 von der UNESCO zum Weltkulturerbe ernannt wurde und das am besten erhaltene der Welt ist.

There is no mortar or cement between the 20,400 blocks of stone, which remain standing solidly in a perfect balance of forces.
