The invention aims at providing in an optical fibre transmission system without repeater stations amplitude modulating means associated with polarization scrambling means, thereby enabling to limit the power backscattered by Brillouin effect, or to increase the power injected into the communication link.

L'invention propose, dans un système de transmission à fibre optique sans répéteurs, de prévoir des moyens de modulation d'amplitude, associés à des moyens de brouillage de la polarisation. Elle permet ainsi de limiter la puissance rétrodiffusée par effet Brillouin, ou d'augmenter la puissance injectée dans la liaison.
