إعادة النظر في النموذج القائم على خيار الوالدين وإيجاد عملية رسمية تشتمل على ضمانات إجرائية صارمة تهدف إلى تقييم وتحديد المصالح الفضلى للأطفال ذوي الإعاقة، وضمان الاحترام الكامل لحق الأطفال ذوي الإعاقة في الاستماع إليهم ومراعاة آرائهم في هذه العملية؛

Reconsider the model of parental choice and establish a formal process, with strict procedural safeguards, designed to assess and determine the best interests of the child with disabilities and ensure that the right of children with disabilities to be heard and have their views taken into account is fully respected in this process;

Reconsidere el modelo de la elección por los padres y establezca un proceso oficial, con estrictas salvaguardias de procedimiento, para evaluar y determinar el interés superior del niño con discapacidad y garantice que en ese proceso se respete plenamente el derecho de los niños con discapacidad a ser escuchados y a que se tengan en cuenta sus opiniones.
