Nestled in a green setting along the ‘ Gueule’, pretty and capricious river, Plombières draws the attention of visitors with its mining site classified as nature reserve where natural and particular flora (the calamine pensy) almost unique in Europe has managed to develop and where the discovery of walls of ‘pellets foundry’, recall the last vestiges of mining (lead and zinc) completed around 1922.

Gelegen in een groene omgeving langs de Geul, mooie en grillige rivier, wordt in Plombières de aandacht van de bezoekers op zijn mijnsite gelegd. Geklasseerd als natuurreservaat waar de natuurlijke flora (o.a. het zinkviooltje) bijna uniek in Europa heeft weten te ontwikkelen, en waar de ontdekking van de muren uit smeltkroes, herinneren aan de laatste overblijfselen van de mijnbouw (lood en zink) voltooid rond 1922.
