Auch wenn die slawischen Christen mehr als die anderen die heiligen Brüder als »Slawen nach dem Herzen« ansehen, so bleiben diese doch Menschen hellenistischer Kultur und byzantinischer Prägung, Menschen also, die ganz der östlichen Tradition des Christentums angehören, sei es im gesellschaftlichen wie im kirchlichen Bereich.

Even though Slav Christians, more than others, tend to think of the holy Brothers as "Slavs at heart", the latter nevertheless remain men of Hellenic culture and Byzantine training. In other words, men who fully belonged to the civil and ecclesiastical tradition of the Christian East.
