Digital wird die auf seinem neuen Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC)-Mikroprozessor beruhende Alpha-AXP-Technik Olivetti zur Verfügung stellen. Olivetti verpflichtet sich im Gegenzug, die Alpha-AXP-Technik für seine sämtlichen Rechnerplattformen und dazugehörige Software mit Ausnahme der auf den Mikroprozessoren des Typs Intel beruhenden Produktlinie zu verwenden.
