To tide over this drought situation, the Government is taking up works like erection of new deep borewells, rejuvenation of existing borewells and open wells, replacement of pump-sets and supply of water through lorries in needy areas at a cost of Rs.460 crore in rural areas and Rs.150 crore in urban areas.

இந்த வறட்சியான சூழ்நிலையை சமாளிக்கும் விதமாக, புதிய ஆழ்துளை கிணறுகள் அமைப்பது, ஏற்கெனவே உள்ள ஆழ்துளை கிணறுகள் மற்றும் திறந்த வெளி கிணறுகளைப் புதுப்பித்தல், விசை பம்புகளை மாற்றுதல் மற்றும் தேவையான பகுதிகளில் லாரிகள் மூலம் குடிநீர் விநியோகம் செய்தல் போன்ற பணிகளை கிராமப்புறங்களில் 460 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவிலும், நகர்ப்புரங்களில் 150 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவிலும் அரசு மேற்கொண்டு வருகிறது.
