The process comprises reacting an alcohol with a fluoroolefin in the presence of a free-radical initiator, distilling the resultant reaction product without decomposing the free-radical initiator to recover the alcohol and the free-radical initiator, and recycling to the reaction the alcohol and free-radical initiator recovered.

Ce procédé consiste à faire réagir un alcool avec une fluoro-oléfine en présence d'un amorceur de radicaux libres, à distiller le produit réactionnel résultant sans décomposer l'amorceur de radicaux libres en vue de récupérer l'alcool et l'amorceur de radicaux libres, puis à faire repasser l'alcool et l'amorceur de radicaux libres récupérés par l'étape de réaction.
