ويتولى مكتب النقل الفضائي التجاري تحديد المبالغ اللازمة للتعويض عن الخسارة القصوى المحتملة في حالة كل رخصة، بحد أقصى قدره # مليون دولار لما يلحق بالغير من وفاة أو اصابة جسمانية أو أضرار بالممتلكات، وبحد أقصى قدره # مليون دولار للخسائر في الممتلكات الحكومية، أو (اذا كان أقل من ذلك) الحد الأقصى للتأمين من المسؤولية المتاح بتكلفة معقولة في السوق العالمية

The amounts required to compensate for maximum probable loss are determined in the case of each licence by the Office of Commercial Space Transportation, up to a maximum of $ # million for death, bodily injury or property damage to third parties and a maximum of $ # million for loss of government property or (if lower) the maximum liability insurance available at reasonable cost on the world market
