An jenem Morgen ging ich zu den Toren des Palastes, und nachdem ich hatte warten müssen, während die Kapelle die Nationalhymne spielte, wobei das ganze Personal der Regierung auf den vielen Balkonen des Palastes stand, durfte ich das Schilderhaus am Tor passieren und die vielen breiten Stufen zum Palast hinaufgehen.

That morning I went to the Palace gates and, after having to wait while the band played the National Anthem, with all the government personnel standing on the Palace’s many balconies, I was allowed to go past the sentry box at the gate, up the many broad steps into the Palace.
