It took a fine cynicism to show those horrors and point an accusing finger at the defeated when the ones mainly responsible were the US Air Force and the Royal Air Force. In April 1945, no longer able to manage, the commandant of Bergen-Belsen, SS captain Josef Kramer, sent some men to meet the advancing troops of British Marshal Montgomery and warn them that they were approaching a terrible den of infection, and that they should not immediately release the prisoners lest they contaminate the civilian population and the British soldiers.

Occorreva un bel cinismo per mostrare questi orrori puntando un dito accusatore in direzione dei vinti, mentre i principali responsabili erano l’US Nell'aprile del 1945, non potendo più resistere, il comandante del campo di Bergen-Belsen, il Capitano delle SS Josef Kramer, aveva inviato degli uomini incontro alle truppe del Maresciallo britannico Montgomery per informarle che esse si avvicinavano ad un terribile focolaio di infezione, e che non bisognava quindi rilasciare immediatamente i prigionieri, per il rischio che questi ultimi contaminassero la popolazione civile ed i soldati britannici.
