The analysis conducted by the Academy revealed how the existing lighting did not enhance this area of the town at all, as the Porta Mercato Gate and the Sferisterio were not illuminated, apart from the Sferisterio loggia. To remedy this situation, the Academy design team, headed by Francesca Cecarini, divided the Sferisterio into horizontal strips, in line with its architectural design and then focused the lighting on differentiating the light and shadow zones to create a rhythm along the whole perimeter of the building.

El estudio realizado por la academia demostró lo inadecuado que esta situación inicial era para valorizar esta área de la ciudad. La Puerta del Mercado y el Sferisterio no estaban iluminados, si excluimos la galería abierta del Sferisterio. El equipo de diseño de la academia, dirigido por Francesca Cecarini, decidió dividir el Sferisterio en lo largo de todo el perímetro del edificio.
