وبعد أن أكدت المتحدثة على التشابه بين تاريخ الصحراء الغربية وتاريخ تيمور - ليشتي، قالت إن شعب تيمور - ليشتي كان على الدوام يؤيد حق شعب الصحراء الغربية في تقرير مستقبله، مع مراعاة الموقف الذي اتخذه الاتحاد الأفريقي، والقرارات التي اعتمدتها الجمعية العامة، ومجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة، والفتوى الصادرة من محكمة العدل الدولية.

Stressing the similarities in the histories of Western Sahara and Timor-Leste, she said that the people of Timor-Leste had always supported the right of the people of Western Sahara to determine their future, bearing in mind the position taken by the African Union, the resolutions adopted by the General Assembly and the Security Council of the United Nations and the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice.
