(IAPA/IFEX) - Miami, May 27, 2010 - The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) today called for the restoration of Venezuela's Radio Caracas Television (RCTV) broadcast network on the third anniversary of its forced shutdown in a "demonstration of political will" by the government of President Hugo Chávez, stating that during this period of electoral campaigns the public needs to access information from all sources as required in a democracy.

(SIP/IFEX) - Miami, 27 de mayo de 2010 - La SIP apostó hoy por la reapertura de Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV) de Venezuela, en el tercer aniversario de su cierre, como "muestra de voluntad política" de parte del gobierno del presidente Hugo Chávez, en especial por tratarse de una época de contienda electoral, en la que el público necesita acceder a información plural y diversa dentro del necesario juego de las ideas que implica el sistema democrático.
