Es wurde beobachtet, dass im chronologischen Verlauf der Reihenspülungen die Dichte der gewonnenen Epithelzellen signifikant abnahm und bei östrischen Stuten bei Spülung 1 und 2 signifikant mehr Zellen zu verzeichnen waren als bei diöstrischen. Der Anteil an vitalen Epithelzellen innerhalb der Gesamtzahl war bei Spülung 1 am höchsten, im chronologischen Verlauf ergab sich zu Spülung 2 und 3 jedoch keine signifikante Abnahme dieses Anteils.

The study demonstrates that the density of epithelial cells significantly decreased according to the sequence of flushings. In the first and second flush a significantly higher amount of cells was observed in mares during estrus compared to mares in diestrus. The amount of vital epithelial cells within all epithelial cells reached the highest value with the first of the three flushing procedures and decreased in each of the continuous two, however with no significance.
