My luxuries are basic and sufficient: squatting toilets, cold showers taken from a basin with a scoop, sometimes inside the house, sometimes outside when there is no bathroom, simple meals cooked on a wooden fire and with not much variety, rice being always the main staple and some side dish depending on what is available, houses made of bamboo or bricks with little belongings and not too many comforts, but comfortable enough, where I spend the nights, sometimes on a mattress on the ground, but most of the time a member of the family insists to let me stay in their room.

Mis lujos son básicos y para mí suficientes: retretes de agujero, duchas de agua fría de pileta, en interiores o exteriores, comidas sencillas cocinadas sobre un fuego de leña y sin demasiada variedad a base de arroz y con algún otro alimento para acompañar, casas de bambú o de ladrillos con pocas pertenencias y sin comodidades, pero lo suficientemente cómodas, donde paso las noches, a veces en el suelo en un colchón, otras en una cama que generosamente me cede algún familiar.
