Die informale, evolutionistischen Gesichtspunkten entsprechende Gliederung umfaßt folgende geographische Rassen, die durch morphologische Merkmale der vegetativen und floralen Region, durch phänologische und andere Kriterien unterschieden sind: ssp.minor — Indische, afghanische, tadžikische, äthiopische, ägyptische, südbalkanische, nordosteuropäische, italienische und west/mitteleuropäische Rasse; ssp.faba — Irano-afghanische, mediterrane, nordosteuropäische, west/mitteleuropäische und ostasiatische Rasse.

The informal classification based upon evolutionary considerations includes the following geographical races which may be distinguished by morphological, phenological and other criteria: ssp.minor — Indian, Afghan, Tadžik, Ethiopian, Egyptian, Northeast-European, Italian and Western/central-European race; ssp.faba — Irano-afghan, Mediterranean, Northeast-European, Western/central-European and East-Asiatic race.
