فإن كانت يريفان نفسها تعتبر الاضطلاع بدور قيادي في ’’جمهورية ناغورني - كاراباخ‘‘ موطئ قدم طبيعي في سبيل ارتقاء المدارج في أرمينيا، إذ لا وجود لأي فارق زمني أو مرحلة تشكل فاصلاً زمنياً أو ذا طبيعة أخرى بين الكيانين المستقلين زعماً، فإنه يحق قطعاً لجمهورية أذربيجان أن تعتبر ’’جمهورية ناغورني - كاراباخ‘‘ مجرد حديقة خلفية لجمهورية أرمينيا وأن تنظر إلى الكيانين معاً كجزء واحد لا يتجزأ.

If Yerevan itself looks upon a leadership role in the “NKR” as a natural stepping-stone on the path of career-building within Armenia — there being no temporal interludes or other partitions creating temporal or other buffer zones and dividing the two purportedly separate entities — surely Azerbaijan is entitled to consider the “NKR” a mere backyard of Armenia, and regard the two as inseparable.

Si el propio Yerevan considera que el desempeño de funciones de dirección en la “República de Nagorno-Karabaj” es un paso natural para hacer carrera dentro de la República, sin intervalos ni otras particiones que creen separaciones temporales o de otra índole y dividan las dos entidades supuestamente distintas, es obvio que Azerbaiyán tiene derecho a considerar que la “República de Nagorno-Karabaj” no es más que el patio trasero de la República de Armenia y que ambas entidades son inseparables.
