Apart from this being consistent with the Committee's modus operandi and conception of its own role, the intention was also that the machinery of social consultation should be used constructively to accelerate the building of democratic structures, the organization of interest groups and the establishment of social dialogue in the Central and Eastern European countries (CEECs) themselves.
