Bezüglich der Beziehung zwischen dem klinischen und dem EEG-Befund wird die Ansicht vertreten, daß die Änderungen des corticalen Rhythmus Folgen einer Beeinträchtigung des Hypothalamus durch die Geschwulst sind, und daß diese Beeinträchtigung die Hirnrinde auf dem Wege über die vorderen und dorsomedikalen Thalamuskerne und die Formatio reticularis des Hirnstammes aktiviert.

From the electroclinical correlation we infer that the modification of the cortical rhythms in this type of newgrowths are produced by the involvement of the hypothalamus and that this involvement activates the cerebral cortex through the anterior and dorso-medial thalamic nuclei and the reticular substance of the brain stem.

De la correlación electroclínico se desprende el hecho de que las modificaciones de los ritmos corticales en este tipo de neoformaciones, son producidas por compromiso del hipótalamo el cual activa la corteza cerebral mediante los núcleos anterior y dorso medial del tálamo y por la substancia reticular del tronco cerebral.
