Idet jeg udtrykker min beundring og opmuntrer disse prægtige pionerer inden for videnskabelig forskning, som menneskeheden skylder så meget af sin nuværende udvikling, vil jeg indstændigt bede dem om at fortsætte deres bestræbelser uden at opgive deres visdoms horisont, hvor de videnskabelige og teknologiske præstationer er forenet med de filosofiske og etiske værdier, som er det karakteristiske og uudslettelige kendetegn for mennesket.

In expressing my admiration and in offering encouragement to these brave pioneers of scientific research, to whom humanity owes so much of its current development, I would urge them to continue their efforts without ever abandoning the sapiential horizon within which scientific and technological achievements are wedded to the philosophical and ethical values which are the distinctive and indelible mark of the human person.

Al expresar mi admiración y mi aliento hacia estos valiosos pioneros de la investigación científica, a los cuales la humanidad debe tanto de su desarrollo actual, siento el deber de exhortarlos a continuar en sus esfuerzos permaneciendo siempre en el horizonte sapiencial en el cual los logros científicos y tecnológicos están acompañados por los valores filosóficos y éticos, que son una manifestación característica e imprescindible de la persona humana.
