We must conclude, then, that the mind of the lawgiver is absolutely clear in this regard, and the clarity of the words used emphasizes that it is a very important question concerning the common good of the faithful. Moreover, as is the case with civil legal systems, an infraction of the procedural norms is almost always tantamount to injustice or, at least, equivalent to a denial of the guarantees that the law establishes for the benefit of individuals and the entire community.

Se debe añadir que en las circunstancias actuales, en que se está perdiendo el sentido de la indisolubilidad del matrimonio incluso en los países de larga tradición cristiana a causa de la cultura y de las leyes que permiten el divorcio, el bien común de los fieles exige de la Iglesia una solicitud cada vez más atenta y firme hacia este valor, sin ceder a la fuerte presión proveniente de una realidad cultural no cristiana que, en la medida en que implica también a los fieles, es la verdadera causa de las dolorosas situaciones que todos lamentamos.
