Yr oedd y pwyllgor yn bryderus bod y cynnyrch mewnwladol crynswth y pen yng ngorllewin Cymru a'r Cymoedd wedi disgyn 3.5 y cant rhwng 2006 a 2007 i sefyll ar 73.4 y cant o gyfartaledd yr Undeb Ewropeaidd, er i Gomisiwn Ewrop ddweud wrthym fod y gostyngiad yng Nghymru wedi bod yn llai dramatig nag ydoedd mewn rhanbarthau neu aelod-wladwriaethau cyfagos.

The committee was concerned that gross domestic product per capita in west Wales and the Valleys had fallen 3.5 per cent in 2006-07 to stand at 73.4 per cent of the European Union average, although we were told by the European Commission that the decline in Wales had been less dramatic than that seen in neighbouring member states or regions.
