يكتشف الرعاةُ بكلّ بساطة أنه "قد وُلِد لنا ولد" (أش 9، 5) ويفهمون أن كلّ هذا المجد، كلّ هذا الفرح، كلّ هذا النور، يتركّز في نقطة واحدة، في هذه العلامة التي أعطاهم إياها الملاك: "سَتَجِدونَ طِفلاً مُقَمَّطاً مُضجَعاً في مِذوَد" (لو 2، 12).

Die Hirten entdecken einfach: » Uns ist ein Kind geboren « (Jes 9,5), und verstehen, dass all diese Herrlichkeit, all diese Freude und all dieses Licht sich auf einen einzigen Punkt konzentrieren, auf jenes Zeichen, das der Engel ihnen angegeben hat: » Ihr werdet ein Kind finden, das, in Windeln gewickelt, in einer Krippe liegt « (Lk 2,12).

The shepherds discover simply that “a child has been born to us” (Is 9:5). They realize that all this glory, all this joy, all this light, converges to a single point, the sign that the angel indicated to them: “You will find a child wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger” (Lk 2:12).
