ফলে, সম্মুখ চাপ অববাহিকায় অবক্ষেপিত ভারতীয় প্লেট ও টারশিয়ারি পলির তলানির সমকেন্দ্রাভিমুখ যাত্রাকালে অঞ্চলটি মায়োসিন গিরিজনীর সময়কালে উত্থিত হয় এবং এই উত্থান প্লাইসটোসিন গিরিজনী পর্যন্ত চলতে থাকে যার ফলে বর্তমান আরাকান ইয়োমা সুবৃহৎ-ঊর্ধ্বভঙ্গ ধারা এবং এর পশ্চিমমুখী সম্প্রসারিত চট্টগ্রাম-ত্রিপুরা পর্বত বলয়ের সৃষ্টি হয়।

Hence, with the inception of convergence of the Indian Plate and the Tertiary sediments deposited in the fore-arc basin, the region was uplifted during Miocene orogeny and followed by Pleistocene orogeny to form the present Arakan Yoma Mega-anticlinorium and its western extension covering Chittagong-Tripura mountain belt.
