7 The District Art Societies headed by the District Collector in each district are functioning with a view to promote, preserve and improve the ancient art forms of Tamil Nadu, to spot out artistic talents at District level and conferring awards on them and to provide opportunities for their exposition and dissemination of arts in districts.
