Su decisión se ha basado en que la SPEIS II es muy versátil ya que el Servicio de Prevención y Extinción de Incendios de Alicante demandaba un barco de aluminio que sirviese para luchar contra el fuego así como llevar a cabo misiones de salvamento y buceo. El resultado, según define la revista es “un impresionante, interesante e innovador barco contra incendios de aluminio insumergible ya que dispone de una reserva de flotación no anegable que asegura la flotabilidad en cualquier condición de inundación, la cubierta es amplia y está 100% diseñada para facilitar los movimientos de la tripulación mientras realiza su trabajo, está equipada con amurada desmontable en ambos costados simplificando el acceso a la lámina de agua y cuenta con una cabina con visibilidad 360 grados y estanca que garantiza la seguridad a bordo.
