본 발명은 통신 품질에 따라 초음파 이미지를 능동적으로 압축하는 초음파 진단 장치 및 그 운영방법에 관한 것으로, 초음파 진단기로부터 촬영된 초음파 이미지를 PACS(Picture Archiving and Communication System)를 통해 전송하는 경우, 초음파 진단기에 연결된 통신망의 품질에 따라 능동적으로 초음파 이미지를 손실 압축 또는 무손실 압축하여 전송함으로써, 보다 효율적으로 초음파 이미지를 전송할 수 있는 통신 품질에 따라 초음파 이미지를 능동적으로 압축하는 초음파 진단 장치 및 그 운영방법에 관한 것이다.
