30. However, he did not stop at that. In order to assure as much as possible that he would never depart from this rule, he customarily concluded the statutes of his provincial Synods with the following words: "We are always prepared to submit everything we have done and decreed in this provincial Synod to the authority and judgment of the Roman Church, the Mother and Mistress of all the churches."[

Nè contento di ciò, per meglio assicurarsi di non avere mai a dipartirsi dalla regola suddetta, così di solito conchiude gli statuti dei suoi Sinodi provinciali: « Tutte e singole quelle cose che da noi in questo Sinodo provinciale furono decretate e fatte, sottomettiamo sempre, perchè sieno emendate e corrette, all'autorità ed al giudizio della Santa Romana Chiesa, « di tutte le Chiese madre e maestra » [55].

His non contentus, quo sibi melius caveret ne forte ab ea norma unquam discederet, a se statuta in Synodis provincialibus ita fere concludit: « Omnia et singula quae a nobis in hac provinciali Synodo decreta actaque sunt, qua debemus oboedientia et reverentia, auctoritati ac iudicio Sanctae Romanae Ecclesiae, omnium ecclesiarum matris et magistrae, semper emendanda et corrigenda subicimus » [56].
