Later on, its activities were expanded to copying and deciphering of stone inscriptions, and publishing them. the excavated antiquities are displayed in the 14 site museums. chemical preservation of art objects, photography of artefacts, etc. A Library as a source for material is also functioning at its headquarters, Chennai with valuable, unique and rare books for the benefit of staff members and scholars.

அதன் பின்னர் கல்வெட்டுகளைப் படியெடுத்து, படித்து, பதிப்பித்து அதனை நூலாக்கம் செய்தல், அகழ்ந்தெடுத்த தொல்பொருட்களைக் கொண்டு 14 இடங்களில் அகழ்வைப்பகம் அமைத்தல், தொல்பொருட்களை இரசாயன முறையில் சுத்தம் செய்தல், கலைப் பொருட்களை நிழற்படங்கள் கொண்டு ஆவணப்படுத்துதல் போன்ற பணிகளுடன் விரிவு படுத்தப்பட்டது.
