من الضروري فهم البنية الهرمية للمؤسسة العسكرية والمجتمع في ميانمار وذلك بغية فهم الطريقة التي تنظر بها القيادة العسكرية إلى الوضع؛ وبذلك الفهم فقط يستطيع المجتمع الدولي أن يساهم في إحراز تقدم في مسائل مثل الانتقال إلى الديمقراطية والتنمية التي طال انتظارها في ذلك البلد.

It is essential to understand the pyramid-shaped structure of the military hierarchy in Myanmar and of the society, in order to understand how the military leadership sees the situation; only then can the international community contribute to progress on issues such as the move towards long-awaited democracy and development of the nation.
