The Jungle Palace has been created as a paradise for elephants, with swimming pool, refreshing clay wallows, stout pillars to scratch against, a separate nursery and shade from the ruin’s walls. Nine elephants lead a fine life here: the scenery is splendid, the concept behind it ingenious – animal keeping for the zoos of the future, disguised as a ruined palace!
