وإذ يشرع شمال السودان وجنوبه في مسيرة جديدة، يحدوني الأمل في أن تتاح لنا الفرصة لنقل دروس هامة إلى بقية قارتنا عن إرساء سلام حقيقي ودائم بعد فترة من الحرب، وعن بناء دول ناجحة توفر السلام والاستقرار والازدهار للجميع.

It is my hope that, as Northern and Southern Sudan embark on a new journey, we will have the chance to convey important lessons to the rest of our continent about establishing genuine and lasting peace after a period of war, and about building successful States that provide peace, stability and prosperity for all.

Tengo la esperanza de que, con el nuevo rumbo que están emprendiendo el Sudán Septentrional y el Sudán Meridional, tendremos la oportunidad de transmitir lecciones importantes al resto de nuestro continente sobre el establecimiento de una paz auténtica y duradera tras un período de guerra y sobre la creación con éxito de Estados que proporcionen paz, estabilidad y prosperidad para todos.
