The ceremony began with 64 members of the Rustavi Ensemble dance group performing a choreographed routine to a variation of the UEFA Champions League Anthem.[75] At the culmination of the routine, the players emerged from the tunnel, accompanied by Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli singing Il Gladiatore – a song based on Earth from the soundtrack to the film Gladiator – before Bocelli sang supporting vocals to the UEFA Champions League Anthem.[76] Before they emerged from their dressing room, manager Pep Guardiola played the Barcelona team a specially commissioned seven-minute film showing their best moments from the season interspersed with clips from the film Gladiator.

Antes de que los jugadores entraran al terreno de juego, la UEFA celebró una última ceremonia en la que sesenta y cuatro miembros de la danza Rustavi Ensemble participaron activamente.[96] El grupo realizó una coreografía y en medio de la danza los jugadores de ambos clubes entraron al campo de fútbol, acompañados por el tenor italiano Andrea Bocelli quien interpretó la canción de la película épica Gladiator.[97] Además cantó el himno oficial de la Liga de Campeones de la UEFA.[97] También se mostraron varias escenas donde aparece el técnico español Josep Guardiola;[98] en las imágenes se apreciaba los logros obtenidos por Guardiola en toda la temporada.
