The scalable digital audio decoding apparatus according to the present invention comprises: an audio packet receiving unit for receiving a digital audio packet including a plurality of direct audio channel data one-to-one mapped to each of physical channels and indirect audio channel data mapped indirectly to each of the physical channels; an indirect audio channel extracting unit for extracting the indirect audio channel data from the digital audio packet; an indirect audio channel decoding unit for generating audio channel data corresponding to the physical channels more than the number of the indirect audio channel data using the indirect audio channel data; and an audio channel outputting unit for one-to-one matching each of the audio channel data to each of the physical channels and outputting the audio channel data.

본 발명에 따른 스케일러블 디지털 오디오 디코딩 장치는, 각각 물리적 채널들 각각에 일대일 맵핑되는 복수개의 직접 오디오 채널 데이터들 및 각각 물리적 채널들 각각과 간접적으로 맵핑되는 간접 오디오 채널 데이터들을 포함하는 디지털 오디오 패킷을 수신하는 오디오 패킷 수신부; 상기 디지털 오디오 패킷에서 상기 간접 오디오 채널 데이터들을 추출하는 간접 오디오 채널 추출부; 상기 간접 오디오 채널 데이터들을 이용하여 상기 간접 오디오 채널 데이터들의 개수보다 많은 수의 상기 물리적 채널들에 상응하는 오디오 채널 데이터들을 생성하는 간접 오디오 채널 디코딩부; 및 상기 오디오 채널 데이터들 각각을 상기 물리적 채널들 각각에 일대일 매칭하여 출력하는 오디오 채널 출력부를 포함한다.
