Ich danke dem Herrn für die Früchte dieses Jahres, das zu einer bemerkenswerten Wiederbelebung dieses zugleich einfachen und tiefen Gebets geführt hat. Es führt uns zur Herzensmitte des christlichen Glaubens und erscheint angesichts der Herausforderungen des dritten Jahrtausends und der dringenden Aufgabe der Neuevangelisierung von besonderer Aktualität.

I thank the Lord for the fruits of the Year that has given rise to an important reawakening of this prayer, both simple and profound, that goes to the heart of Christian faith; it appears absolutely current as we stand before the challenge of the third millennium and the urgent commitment of the new evangelization.
