নারীর অবজেক্টিফিশন কে সমস্যা হিসেবে প্রথম সামনে নিয়ে আসে নারীবাদী গোষ্ঠীগুলো, ১৯৭০ এর দশকে। এরপর থেকে এই সমস্যার আনুষঙ্গিক পরিধি বাড়ছে, যৌন অবজেক্টিফিশন সংক্রান্ত জটিলতাগুলো সামগ্রিকভাবে বেড়ে চলেছে, বিশেষ করে রাজনৈতিক ক্ষেত্রে। তবে তৃতীয় মাত্রার এক রকম নারীবাদী গোত্র রয়েছেন যারা নারীর এই অবজেক্টিফিশন কে 'নারী শরীরকে শক্তির এক স্বতন্ত্র আধার হিসেবে ব্যবহারের' রাস্তা হিসেবে ব্যবহার করার উপায় খুজছেন।

The issues concerning sexual objectification became first problemized during the 1970s by feminist groups. Since then, it has been argued that the phenomenon of female sexual objectification has increased drastically since its problematization in all levels of life, and has resulted in negative consequences for women, especially in the political sphere. However, a rising form of new third-waver feminist groups have also taken the increased objectification of women as an opportunity to use the female body as a mode of power.
