The term Ainulindalë comes from the Quenya for Music of the Ainur (or, more literally, Singing of the Holy). Pronounced "eye-noo-LYNN-da-leh" or "eye-noo-LYNN-dul-eh", the final 'e' bears the diacritical mark ̈, which is not used like the German umlaut , but only to show that the vowel is not silent (in Quenya , 'e' is always short, as in English pet).
