Shortly after the signing of the Agreement, those who rejected it announced the setting up of the so-called National Salvation Front, which treacherously attacked the town of Hamrat es-Sheikh in the north of Kurdufah, and openly declared that the objective of the attack was the abortion of the Darfur Peace Agreement.
