يُجرى الإنهاء العمدي للحمل بموافقة المرأة إذا كانت مدة الحمل لا تتجاوز 12 أسبوعاً، وينهي الحمل لدواع اجتماعية إذا كانت مدة الحمل لا تتجاوز 22 أسبوعاً، أما في حالة وجود دلائل طبية تهدد حياة الحامل و/أو الجنين (عند الإصابة بأمراض وراثية أحادية الجين، وفي حالة وجود تشوهات خلقية في النمو لا يمكن إصلاحها وحالة الجنين غير متوافقة مع الحياة)، بغض النظر عن مدة الحمل؛

An abortion may be conducted until the twelfth week of pregnancy at a woman’s request, until the twenty-second week for social reasons and at any time during pregnancy if the life of the woman and/or the embryo is at risk (presence of a monogenic genetic disease, an irreparable birth defect or an unviable embryo);
