At the regional level, since the International Institute for Training and Research on the Advancement of Women (INSTRAW) had its headquarters in Central America, Panama and the other Central American countries supported the General Assembly’s initiative of requesting a study on the capacity of the Gender Awareness Information and Networking System (GAINS).

En el plano regional, habida cuenta de que el Instituto Internacional de Investigaciones y Capacitación para la Promoción de la Mujer (INSTRAW) tiene su sede en América Central, el Panamá y los demás países de América Central apoyan la iniciativa tomada por la Asamblea General de solicitar un estudio sobre la capacidad del Sistema de información y redes de contacto para crear conciencia sobre cuestiones de género (SERS) del INSTRAW.
