On the basis of these convergence reports, which were published on 16 May 2006, and a proposal from the Commission, the ECOFIN Council adopted a decision on 11 July 2006 allowing Slovenia to introduce the euro as its currency from 1 January 2007 (see Chapter 3).

Le 10 octobre 2006, le Conseil Ecofin a réaffirmé que la valeur de référence pour la stabilité des prix devait se calculer comme le taux d’inflation moyen des trois États membres de l’UE ayant enregistré les meilleurs résultats, augmenté de 1,5 point de pourcentage.
