وإن اقتراح عام 2007 المغربي مَنْح الحكم الذاتي لمنطقة الصحراء سيسمح للسكان بإدارة شؤونهم الداخلية والسيطرة على مواردهم المالية اللازمة لتطوير المنطقة، وسيضمن مشاركتهم الكاملة والنشطة في سياسة المغرب واقتصاده ومجتمعه وثقافته.

The 2007 Moroccan proposal to grant autonomy to the Saharan region would allow the population to manage their internal affairs and control of the financial resources needed to develop the region, and would ensure their full and active participation in the politics, economy, society and culture of Morocco.
